When you are married to the President of a company, you tend to get roped into it.  Chrissy grew up not too far from the Pederson’s plant in the tiny town of Gustine, Texas.  She graduated college from Tarleton State University with a teaching certification and then one summer…she took on a “temporary” job at Pederson’s…and she’s still there.  “I was teaching and came to help out during the summer and I never left.  It’s been a really great job,” she says with a laugh, “until I see all my teacher friends off work in the summer.”

Chrissy is definitely the “Momma Bear” at Pederson’s.  “Besides Cody and Neil, I’m the one that’s been here the longest…I take care of AR, AP, Human Resources, helping with orders, anything that no one else wants to do…I’m really laid back, well, I’m really laid back until I don’t need to be…my main job is to keep Cody in check.”

Weekends for Chrissy are usually filled with chasing their three kids somewhere.  Ask her to describe something awesome that has happened in her life and her immediate answer will be her children, but what else would you expect from a Momma Bear.   When Chrissy has time for herself she enjoys running.  “I love to run…I’ve probably participated in over 30 half marathons and 3 full marathons…I don’t go and do any big races, it’s just for fun.”

This laid back, mild mannered mother of three sprouts a wild hair every now and then.  “I’ve actually been on stage with Shania Twain before…it was at a concert in Vegas…she pulled about four people out of the audience at the end of the show and I was one of them…I actually think she was pointing at Cody because, well, he looks the part of the “cute cowboy” but he said, ‘Nah, she can go.’”

Where does Chrissy think Pederson’s is headed?  “We’re only going to grow and grow and we’re eventually going to grow out of this office and Cody is going to get us one that is big enough for everybody.”  A wife can say those sorts of things.  “I just think we’re growing and there’s no stopping us.”

A few Pederson’s fun facts about Chrissy:

Favorite flavor of Pederson’s bacon – “The Apple bacon…that’s just my favorite, it’s probably what we eat the most.  But we’re not picky.”

Favorite non-bacon Pederson’s product – “Breakfast sausage.  The kids have it almost every morning for breakfast…I make it on the weekends and freeze it.”

Who she’d share a plate of bacon with – “George Straight.”  (on a side note….I did not even get to finish asking this question before she said her answer…somebody loves her some George)

Who’d she’d trade jobs with at Pederson’s for one day – “I really like my job so this is a hard question.  I guess I would say our sales rep Britt in California because she travels a lot and is not in the office everyday.”

Favorite Pederson’s moment – “When we hit regular sales of between $500,000 to $600,000 a week.”
What she wants folks to know about Pederson’s – “We have a great product and we make it ourselves in Hamilton, Texas.”
