My photo-trek to Malibu!

All across the nation the temperatures have been topping out in the 40's but not in CA! It was beautiful this past weekend, complete with temps in the high 70's. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get out of the valley, take a drive through the mountains and breath in some ocean air! So I decided to grab my camera and do a photo-trek to Malibu. I decided to take Topanga Canyon, which is a small winding road through the mountains that spits you out, 10 miles later, right at the water!

Here is the view from "Top O' Topanga" looking towards the San Fernando Valley where I live.

As I was nearing the end of my winding canyon drive I noticed this little water fall of the side of the road. Don't see that everyday in Los Angeles!

Here is the view at the end of Topanga Canyon. The ocean is a brisk 57 degrees right now and with the warm weather and breeze, the fog was already rolling in.

I turned off Pacific Coast Highway and followed this little road to solstice canyon lookout! It was nice to get up above the traffic and noise and just take in the scenery!

Ok enough of the scenic moments... I needed sand between my toes! So I headed to Latigo Shores for a walk on the beach.

As I walked along the gorgeous beach houses and listened to nothing but crashing waves I remembered how nice it is to just get away from it all and find a little peace and quiet.

Unfortunately, as you can see above, there were no waves so my surf board stayed dry...

....but my feet got wet!

I really enjoyed my walk but the fog was getting worse and I wanted to head back up to Pacific Coast Highway to watch the sunset above the fog layer!

"Take only memories, leave only footprints"

Sunset was beautiful from up there.

And as I drove back through Las Virgenes Canyon, it only got prettier! I feel so lucky to live and work in such a beautiful place where the mountains, ocean and desert are just a short drive away!
